A question having arisen between Mr. Shuck and the late Land and Road Surveyor, Mr. Reynolds, respecting the Transfer of some Land allotted by the said Committee & Captain Macpherson for the purpose of building Bazaar, I was appealed to.

Thereon, on the 27th of September last, during your Excellency's absence to the North, I decided, which I did precisely as I should have done had a question arisen regarding any other piece of land on the Island and was under the firm impression that I was doing nothing more than was right.

I trust I shall be excused for taking this occasion to point out to you that I have given no permission to add to the size of the Original Lots of land since I received instructions from Sir Henry Pottinger, Bart, &c.
